Our latest detailing must have products
Caring for a car to extreme lengths is referred to in the industry as detailing. But with detailing comes some technical knowledge of paintwork and how best to care for it.
In the majority of cases, car bodywork is built up of initial material (Steel, Aluminium, Plastic), which is then painted in primer, followed by multiple coats of the selected paint colour and finished with a clear lacquer. When caring for a car, it's actually the lacquer layer that requires our attention to ensure a flawless finish – But how do we achieve a flawless finish?
Admittedly, the cleaning chemicals and substances are the true heroes here, but often they are not as successful without the correct cleaning applicators/tools. And at Simply Auto, we've got some brand-new goodies!
When cleaning a vehicle’s bodywork, we want to avoid creating swirl marks. These are the fine scratches that you will see on your vehicle in direct sunlight and often look like a kind of spider web effect. These often are caused by dragging fine grit across the vehicle whilst washing or drying your vehicle. That’s why your choice of tools/applicators is so important.
For instance, a microfibre/noodle style sponge allows room for the grit in its fibres and therefore avoids direct contact with the bodywork whilst you're cleaning your car. Followed by a simple rinse, the soils can be removed. Take these microfibre cleaning sponges perfect for the job.

If you own a car, you've most likely cleaned a car. And that means you know the difficulties of cleaning glass to get a streak-free finish. But what most people don't know is how important the cloths are, in order to achieve a streak-free finish. Oils and grime stick to glass so it's first important to wash the glass with hot soapy water. Following that, the trick is to then clean the glass with a designated glass cleaner, and a lint-free cloth, followed then by a specific polishing cloth. Exactly what you can find from our new 2-pack of glass cloths.
