Stay prepared for your staycation

Emergency accessories for JOURNEY

First Aid Kit

Not only is this for your safety but it is also required to be carried in vehicles by law in all EU countries.

A GB sticker

A GB sticker is required on the rear of any UK registered vehicle travelling in non-EU countries, which also includes your caravan, motorhome, or trailer tent.

Hi-vis jackets

Carrying high visibility clothing in your car is recommended good practice to provide maximum visibility in an emergency situation, and should be an essential part of your safety equipment. It is also compulsory to carry a Yellow safety jacket when driving in many European countries (and in some instances every occupant of the vehicle must have one) so make sure you and your family are protected.

Warning triangle

We hope you never need one, but if you do, it's better to be prepared. The Simply Warning Triangle is a reflective red emergency warning triangle that can quickly be used in a time of crisis designed to maximise you and your passenger’s safety by alerting other motorists to your presence.

All of these items and more are included in our handy Euro travel kit which contains 7 must-have items. These include a warning triangle, 18 piece first aid kit, one B plate, one bulb kit, and one Eurolite set, all neatly stored in a smart carry bag.

Bulb kits

If you are on the road and notice that one of your headlights isn’t working it may be as simple as a bulb change. Not so simple, however, if you have to get to a retailer that sells the bulb you need. Why have that hassle when you can carry this excellent compact universal bulb kit?

Battery chargers/jump-starters

In case of a breakdown, a battery charger,  jump start power bank, or a simple set of jump leads is a must-have! Often the most common reason for a car needing to be jump-started is a failed battery, but it could be something as simple as a boot light or cabin light failing to turn off.

Foot pump

It’s such a simple one but is often forgotten. Sometimes on the road, you may not see a car for miles and you notice the vehicle pulling to one side. It turns out you’ve got a slow puncture. They spare tyre is flat or you’ve found some tyre sealant and just need a foot pump to inflate, giving you enough time to get yourself to the next garage or tyre shop.

Tow strap

If you need to move a broken-down car and have a family member, friend, or generous motorist to help you, the Simply Tow strap will enable them to tow you to your destination. This tow rope will be even more important if there are icy conditions, or if your vehicle should get stuck in mud, grass, or in a ditch.

Ratchet straps

A Ratchet Tie Down strap is one of those everyday items that might not sound like much of a big deal, however, they play an important role in securing any cargo or holding down equipment whilst travelling! Simply have a range of lengths and breaking strengths available.

Security & Safety items for your STAYCATION

Security does not tend to be the main thing you think about in the excitement of getting ready to go on holiday in your campervan or motorhome. However, protecting your campervan and of course yourselves from thieves and opportunists is a reality that should not be ignored.

As the saying goes, prevention is the best cure!

Here are few things we would recommend you invest in for your next trip:

Steering wheel lock

Protect your much-loved campervan from criminals with one of our Steering wheel locks. A simple and cost-effective way to add a visible and secure form of motor security.

Key and phone blocker

Once enclosed inside the Key & Phone blocker pouch no signal can penetrate from outside or be hacked from inside perfect for Mobile phones, smart automobile key fobs, building access key fobs, Security/Access cards, smartwatches, thumb-drives, Wi-Fi cards, and many smaller electronic devices.

Dash Cam

It is often difficult to recall an incident without video evidence or in some cases can be challenging to prove your innocence, as there can be different views on the incident. With a Dash Camera, you can be at ease offering your Insurance company proof of evidence they may need if an accident should occur.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, however, we hope it gives you some forethought and inspiration on some of the emergency and security essentials needed for your next trip, which can be the difference between a smooth, epic adventure or a stressful experience!

Look out for our next blog, where we will be telling you all about the personal essentials that can help you ensure your next adventure goes without a hitch.
